Pastor
Rev. Dr. Jack DiMatteo
Meet our Pastor
For the past 37 years, Jack has served as a parish pastor, interfaith hospice chaplain, and community leader. “PJ” started at Holy Trinity as an interim pastor in 2015, and that call became a full time call in 2016. He has a doctorate in pastoral theology and recently authored a book "Faith and Farewell: When Your Parents Approach Their Final Days," available in bookstores everywhere.
Pastor Jack currently serves as Dean of the ELCA NJ Western District, Cluster Counselor of the NJ Synod’s Northwestern Cluster, and volunteer Executive Director of RISEUP Rockaway, a not-for-profit corporation he started in 2017 to aid those in poverty. Jack is blessed by his four children, who are all young professionals. He loves spending time with his two grandchildren as well. PJ is a diehard Yankees and Vikings fan and is a lifelong distance runner. He can often be spotted striding through the Lake Telemark area.
Pastor Jack also serves as Pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Sparta, NJ where he conducts worship each Sunday at 9:00am.
